You can really feel the stare of the hollow eyes
as they look at you coming into the vast hall.

Hey hey, spring is here and so are the pastels!

I took this old screen print I did some time ago and wanted to create a surface
pattern using it as a starting point.. I vectorised the bicycle and drew the
character and background in Illustrator. Once I was happy with the illustration I duplicated the character and bicycle, flipped it around and adjusted some of the background elements to work when the image was repeated and finally made the pattern using Illustrator's Pattern Tool, and that's it really!
Hope you like it (:

Polkupyörä screen print.

Hello!

I've been doing some more screen printing recently and here's a three colour print I did yesterday.
I wanted to illustrate this Finnish song called "Polkupyörä"(Bicycle), which I loved to sing when I was little.

Free translation -

You're pedalling,
I'm steering,
the journey is like a dance.
As we cycle to grandma's,
there's not a cloud in the sky.

Patterns.

Hello from the print room! This time I have been experimenting with screen printing onto fabric. I painted these patterns directly onto transparent film to get a really nice crisp brush stroke when they were exposed onto the screens.

Anorak Magazine

I love Anorak and was super stoked to have my little doodle featured in the latest issue. The brief was to draw a game or an activity page. Here's my Mrs. Owl's Funny Hat Party, where some of the guests have forgotten to wear their head gear and need crazy hats drawn on their heads!

New home.

Hi there, nice to meet you! I've just packed up my things and moved from my first blog home over at Wordpress. It was good while it lasted, but it was time to move on to the big Blogger world. I decided to travel light and leave my old posts behind and start fresh, but you can still go and have a look at my old blog at www.jennidraws.wordpress.com if you wish... I'm still learning the ropes of blogging with blogger, but I'll try and get things going soon -  watch this space!
