Bike moon

Bike Moon Illustration by Jenni Saarenkyla
Jenni Saarenkyla

Hey hey, spring is here and so are the pastels!

I took this old screen print I did some time ago and wanted to create a surface
pattern using it as a starting point.. I vectorised the bicycle and drew the
character and background in Illustrator. Once I was happy with the illustration I duplicated the character and bicycle, flipped it around and adjusted some of the background elements to work when the image was repeated and finally made the pattern using Illustrator's Pattern Tool, and that's it really!
Hope you like it (:

Felt brooches.

I made some felt brooches based on some sketches I had done. I cut out the pieces, stitched the faces on before stitching around the edges, then left a little gap to stuff the little brooches with some cotton wool, and then finished off the stitching to seal the edge. On the back of the brooch I've sewn a bar pin. So much fun to make these!

Anorak Magazine

I love Anorak and was super stoked to have my little doodle featured in the latest issue. The brief was to draw a game or an activity page. Here's my Mrs. Owl's Funny Hat Party, where some of the guests have forgotten to wear their head gear and need crazy hats drawn on their heads!
